Animal Justice League wrote, "Buttercup is an incredibly sweet, shy (at first) senior girl. She is a 9 year old, petite girl coming in at only 40lbs. She was used for breeding and never knew anything other than street life. You can see in the pictures that she likely tried to escape her chain and wore down her teeth. Unfortunately, she has been in our rescue since May and has had no interest.

Buttercup is so incredibly sweet and loves affection. She loves ALL humans and you can tell how long she has wanted companionship because as soon as you stop petting her, she'll nudge you for more. She will squirm on the bed to get closer to you, nuzzle into you while watching tv, and lean into you when you pet her. She is always happy to show just how appreciative she is to have a home and someone that shows her love by wagging her tail and wiggling her whole body.

She is crate trained, potty trained, and getting better at leash training every day. She would do well in an only dog home or a home with another calm dog. A proper introduction, supervision, and some time to warm up would be needed, but she would be a great addition. A hyper dog would probably overwhelm her, although she does have bursts of playfulness herself.

Local adoptions will require an in-person home check to ensure a safe environment. We will call their vets/references to ensure that their previous pets (if they have them) have received vaccinations, preventatives, and medical care. We will transport but we need to do a mobile home check to ensure their house and backyard is secure. We call their vet/references to ensure that their previous pets have received vaccinations, preventatives, and medical care. If for any reason the adoption isn't working out, we ask they contact us to find another home for the animal. Should she get out of state interest, we can pay to get her to her new home. We just want the best for her and for her to have a forever home."
